almost a new year

So 2008 is upon us and we couldn't be happier. We joyfully survived another Christmas season and are grateful for it. Family times are always precious and my thought is that the abundance of carbs and sugar that we all OD on makes it wonderful and a little crazy. Still, we are just glad to see everyone and grateful for good health and provision.

For now, our house is a wreck. Isabella and Elissa are loving life. The 5yr old and 3yr old are swimming in wonderful toys provided by us and so many family, especially Mimi and Bebe, and friends! They were starting to think that Christmas meant "open presents every day for a month". We repeatedly try to explain to them the real meaning but it is exceedingly difficult to get past so many fun new things to explain the greatest gift is our Lord and Savior... still, we will keep talking about Him and trust one day the gift will make sense.

2008 promises great things for us all. Of course there is the big football season finale which consists of bowl games and then the big Super Bowl! Adam will be a little lost when the last seconds tick off, but I have no doubt he will find some way to fill his time. I am looking forward to getting back to the Biggest Loser at Thornwell. The holidays set me back a good four pounds :) but I mean good when I say good (Bebe's Texas Caviar and Mimi's cookies) so... back to business. Isabella starts back with homeschool as a 5K. I hope to tackle it with a new enthusiasm for us both and try to integrate some more fun into it. Elissa heads back to preschool and being a 3K clown! She really is a pickle and we hope to rein it in a little but continue to keep 3yr old expectations in consideration, good and bad.

Our girls in the cottage are all looking ahead but for the sake of keeping their lives private, we will try not to discuss much about them. Believe me, it isn't for a lack of love or excitement. They are precious and wonderful and we are so blessed to have them in our life.

Happy New Year! With love, Leah
